All of our childbirth education classes are conveniently held at Birth & Wellness Center of Arlington or virtually via zoom!

We have bundled our most popular 101 classes together into your ideal education for birth and new parenthood. Learn everything you need to know about Nutrition, Labor and Birth, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care, and Postpartum.
COST: $350 for the whole series, or take individual workshops of your choice listed above. (If you have purchased an add-on package and chosen the Childbirth Education Classes option, these classes are included with your package.)

NUTRITION 101
Prenatal Nutrition 101 is a 90-minute virtual class where we discuss the best (food-first) approach to nourishing your body while pregnant. Understanding the importance of real food, how to balance your meals for sustainable energy, and the specific nutrients that build a healthy baby allows you to make the best choices for you and your little one!

LABOR AND BIRTH 101
Getting ready for the big day! We’ll talk about female anatomy and how your baby will grow, the signs, phases and stages of labor progression, comfort measures and relaxation techniques and what will happen after birth in the immediate postpartum period. We will also cover interventions and what would happen if you were to need a hospital birth. This class will give you the information you need to prepare for the birth that you desire! Please note - on the 3rd night you will need to bring a yoga/Pilates mat.

POSTPARTUM 101
Postpartum is a wild ride! For most people, postpartum can be the hardest part. In this class we will discuss the best ways to plan and prepare for postpartum, postpartum mood disorders and what signs to watch out for, when to ask for help and more!

NEWBORN CARE 101
Bringing home a brand new baby can be the most exciting, yet such a vulnerable time in your life. We want you to feel confident with your newborn so this is your training for early parenthood! We’ll be building a strong foundation for you while covering a wide range of topics including a variety of basic newborn procedures, baby-wearing, safe sleep options, postpartum challenges, tips for comforting your newborn and more to help you and your partner get off to a great start with your new baby!

Breastfeeding 101
Breastfeeding is a natural and instinctual way of feeding your baby, however it is a learned behavior and will take some practice. This class will help with the basics to give you a great start and boost your confidence. We’ll cover the perfect latch and positioning, how to know if baby is getting enough, keeping a healthy milk supply, when and how to pump, and how your baby will progress into eating food among many other topics.

How to Maintain Low-Risk Status through Nutrition
We discuss common pregnancy symptoms and complications and how to manage them through nutrition. We dive into everything from nausea and heartburn to gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. Focusing on how to treat and avoid these issues allows you to stay low risk and have the safe and healthy pregnancy and birth you desire.
